Blog about Twitter

I believe twitter discussions are much faster and requires you to be more concise. Due to the limit number of characters that you can use, it forces users to tweet just enough to get your message out and block out excessive details. However, Blackboard discussions give us the ability to go more in detail about various topics. It also helps us to thoroughly read our classmates input and reply to their posts more accurately. Discussions in class allows us to rapidly respond to other classmates which can make the conversations more significant and interesting. It can also make some students more uncomfortable because they would rather be behind a screen than to openly share their opinion in a room full of eyes staring at you. I believe it is beneficial to use all these platforms as a way to facilitate conversations because it can give us different perspective about the same topic.

Blogs Vs Wiki

Blogs and Wiki's are a great medium of networking that is beneficial for everyone involved. However, they have their differences that set them apart. Blogs are mainly controlled by an admin who publishes work while others can add their thoughts on the comment section. Wiki's provide more open space and allows multiple people with access to collaborate on different topics. They can add, remove, edit content as they please which is completely the opposite of a blog. In the NY Times article, "Wal-Mart Tastemakers Write Unfiltered Blog" by Michael Barbaro, it explains how blogs are used to connect the retail giant, Walmart, with the consumers who buy their products. These blogs provide reviews on everything sold in the stores and it helps buyers decide what to purchase. The Economic, Moral, and Technological Impact of Amazon Amazon has become a behemoth in the technology and consumer products industry. They account for about 50% of the US eCommerce market and leaving their competitors, such as eBay and Walmart, in the wind. They have taken the market by storm and are still growing. Amazon Web Services account for almost 5% of all websites including Netflix, Reddit, and AOL. However, their rise comes at a cost which is the moral aspect of this research.
